Hazing at DHS, Some Had No Idea

The investigation of the hazing incident is considered "on-going." But details of what actually happened has not been released.

If you were to ask some of parents picking up their children about the hazing situation, the answer would be, "What hazing?" Or, "I just found out this morning."

Out of the 10 parents that were asked, not one was aware of what happened last Friday before Wednesday morning.

"I don't know if anyone knows what happened," said Tom C., whose child goes to Dedham High School and admits that the only reason why he knows was because of the reports this morning.

Details are not being released by the school, and the administration is fighting hard to keep it that way.

According to federal and state laws, school personnel are not allowed to disclose any information about students.

But Superintendent June Doe did release a statement hoping that this never happens again.

"The Dedham Public Schools and all the administrators are committed to maintaining an atmosphere that is free from bullying and hazing for all students," she wrote.  "We will continue to enforce our policies and protect our students".
