Governor Administration Announces Completion of Fishing and Boating Access Project in Dedham

The project cost $99,000 to complete and will be managed by the Town of Dedham.

Energy and Environmental Affairs Secretary Rick Sullivan announced the completion of 18 Massachusetts fishing and boating access projects.  This included the completion of the Charles River project in Dedham.

“Fishing and boating is enjoyed by more than one million Massachusetts residents and visitors each year,” Secretary Sullivan said. “These completed projects will provide additional recreational opportunities throughout the Commonwealth.”

The Office of Fishing and Boating Access (FBA) supervised the construction of a new cartop access facility, but it will be managed by the Town of Dedham.  The area will now provide parking for eight vehicles, access for canoes, kayaks and other cartop boats.  The project cost $99,000 to complete.

"This section of the Charles River has good fishing for largemouth bass and chain pickerel,"Amy Mahler said.
