Dedham Police Log: Shoplifting, Churchill Park Found Vandalized and More

The following information was provided by the Dedham Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

Monday, July 22
(11:38 a.m.)  Churchill Park was found vandalized early Monday morning.  According to reports, graffiti was done on a port-a-potti and playground equipment.  There were also half size mannequins hanging from different parts of the park.  A report was filed.

(12:41 p.m.) A woman reported to Dedham Police that her iPhone was stolen at the Endicott Estate.  A report was filed.

(2:00 p.m.)  Dedham Police received reports that damage was done to a vehicle that was parked on High Street.  According to reports, there were long scratches along the length of the vehicle.  A report was filed.

Wednesday, July 24
(12:04 p.m.)  Dedham Police received reports of a shoplifter at Best Buy on Providence Highway.  According to reports, a 5'8 hispanic male entered the game section and was seen removing the game from its packaging and concealing it.  He then moved on to the phone section and took some phone accessories   Police later approached him and he was verbally trespassed from the store.

(10:05 p.m.)  Best Buy reported to police that a shoplifter had just fled the store.  According to reports, the loss prevention employee observed a man rip open a digital health watch valued at $99.  The man was approached by employees and escorted to the front of the store.  However, that's when the suspect told them that he didn't have any money and then ran into the front door of a car and fled the scene. A report was filed.
