Dedham Police Log: Multiple Reports of Identity Theft, Larceny and More

The following information was provided by the Dedham Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

 

Tuesday, Jan. 22

(6:08 p.m.) According to police reports, a woman had her money stolen from a fitness gym on Providence Highway. She told police that she was working out for an hour and a half and then noticed that someone tampered her lock in the locker room. The cash in her wallet was the only item that was missing.

Wednesday, Jan. 23

(1:38 p.m.) Police responded to call of a woman that was bitten by a stray pit bull. Upon arrival, police discovered that she was not bitten by a dog. She was scared because she saw a loose dog heading in her direction.  Animal Control arrived on the scene and attempted to locate the dog and/or the owner.

Thursday, Jan. 24

(5:14 p.m.) At 5:10 p.m. a woman entered the police station to report an identity theft incident.  She claimed that her debit card was used at Walmart.com without her permission by an unknown party. The police called Walmart and was informed that the item was being shipped to a NY address. The woman immediately canceled her debit card and Dedham Police gave her an identity theft packet. 

Friday, Jan. 25

(4:22 p.m.) According to police reports, a woman came into the police station to report identity theft. She told police that her debit card was used without her permission in Birmingham at a bus terminal. The incident is under investigation.
