Dedham Police Log: Credit Card Fraud, Shoplifting and More

Monday, Feb. 4

(9:27 p.m.) Police responded to a report about a shoplifter in custody on Providence Highway.  According to reports, the employees told police that they observed the suspect using the express checkout scanner.  The problem was that the suspect only paid for a portion of the items.  The employees stated to police that the total amount of unpaid groceries was $246.14.  The suspect was trespassed from the store.

Tuesday, Feb. 5

(6:53 p.m.) According to police reports, there was a motor vehicle that was broken into at 1000 Presidents Way. Upon arrival a resident told police that his father's Amplifier was stolen from the vehicle. Police advised them to contact their insurance company to report the incident.

Wednesday, Feb. 6

(1:41 p.m.) A couple walked into the police station to report credit card fraud. They observed several pending charges from an online travel agency.  The Detective Unit is investigating the matter. 

Thursday, Feb. 7

(1:54 p.m.) According to police reports, there was a shoplifter in custody at a supermarket on Providence Highway.  The employees reported to police that the suspect placed $247.68 worth of items in the cart and then attempted to leave the store without paying for them.  The suspect was trespassed from the store.

Sunday, Feb. 10

(4:50 p.m.) There was a report of a shoplifter at Legacy Place. Upon arrival, police were told that the woman fled out of the store.  The woman was described as a black female with long hair, wearing an American flag bandana, blue jeans, and bright blue lipstick.  The store manager was able to produce a photo of the woman and the issue is being investigated.
