1.Knitted Cables "What's the Big Deal"

Why Go: In this class we will go over the basic techniques it takes to do cables.  This class will be a great jumping off point for those who have been too afraid to try cables.  this is a pre-registration class.  Call and sign up now before it's full.

2. Paddy Mills in Concert

Where/When: Paradise Cafe, 565 High Street in Dedham.  Friday, September 21 at 8:00 p.m.

Why Go: As a songwriter, Paddy has a knack for the overlooked. He knows that common sense is not so common, and simple truths are not so simple. With a hitch-hikers heart and a back pack full of notebook philosophy, Paddy leaves you grinning like you've just been let in on a secret -- one that you might just have known all along.

3. Writer's Weekend: Telling Your Story...Writing the Truth

Where/When: MIT Endicott House, 80 Haven Street, Dedham. Friday, September 21 all day.

Why Go: Do you have a book in you? Join Jane K. Cleland, author of the Josie Prescott Antiques Mysteries, for this highly interactive working weekend. You’ll find how to write your book now by journeying through seven modules.

4. PathFinders Friday Night Affair

Where/When: Dedham Parks and Recreation, 269 Common Street in Dedham.  Friday, September 21 at 6:00 p.m.

Why Go: They will be having an Ice Cream Social.

Price: $5 per child and it's free for adults and children under 2 years old.

5. Westwood Ringers Coming to Church of the Good Shepard

Where/When: 62 Cedar Street in Dedham.  Saturday, September 22 at 3:00 p.m.

Why Go: The Westwood Ringers is a group of 11 adults who ring handbell music on a set of 61 tuned bronze bells and 49 hand chimes. They have performednumerous concerts in eastern Massachusetts since the original handbell choir was formed in 1965. In addition, they have taken three European concert tours - to England in 1999, Germany and Austria in 2002, and Ireland in 2005. This is a fund raiser for the church.
