Five Things You Need to Know: Sept. 28 Concerts, Karate, and More

Todays Weather: For today you can expect rain, mainly after 11 a.m. High near 57.  Tonight will be some more rain and possibly a thunderstorm before 2 a.m., then a chance of rain and thunderstorms between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m., then a chance of rain after 3 a.m. Low around 53. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible, according to The National Weather Service.

1. Ashley Jordan, winner of the 2012 New England Country Music Awards, will be performing at the Paradise Cafe.  The show starts at 8:00 p.m.

2. Sheep Skate Yarn & Craft, 549 High Street in Dedham will have a "Crochet Cable Squares class. In this 2 session class you will learn to make a cable within a square.  These squares can then be sewed together to create a blanket, pillow, bag or where ever your imagination takes you.  You can take one class or both but please call and pre-register. $20 to join the class!

3. The Dedham Community House, 671 High Street in Dedham will have a "Boot Camp: Karate Class" at 5:30 p.m.  This class for Karate beginners is open to all from the age of 7 to senior citizens. Sensie John Morash is the instructor for this class. $102 to join the class!

4. PathFinders is hosting "Friday Family Fun Swim" at the Dedham Pool, Recreation Road and High Street in Dedham. Bring the whole family down to the Dedham Pool for the PathFinders Friday Family Fun Swim. Pool is fully accessible. Parents/guardians must supervise their children at all times. Lifeguards will be on duty as well. The cost is $1.
