Dedham Fire Crews Respond to Two-Alarm Blaze on Stoney Lea Road

Dedham fire crews responded to a two-alarm fire inside a Stoney Lea road home Tuesday afternoon.

Heavy smoke began showing shortly after 3 p.m. Tuesday. And outside fire extended into the structure of the home, with heavy fire extending into the attic, according to unconfirmed reports.

Norwood Man Faces OUI Drug Charge Following Arrest in Walpole

Nathanael M. Rodriguez, 34, of Boston, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license following a motor vehicle stop on Route 1 Walpole.

Officers had to use force during the arrest, according to police logs.

Walpole Selectmen Recognize Police for Answering Call in Aftermath of Marathon Bombings

Six Walpole police officers were recognized at Tuesday's Board of Selectmen meeting for their efforts in the aftermath of the Boston Marathon bombings and the manhunt for Suspect #2.

Selectmen thanked police chief Richard Stillman, patrolman Scott Koenig, Detective Sgt. Jim O'Connell, patrolman Luke Parlon and motorcycle patrolman AL Manganello.

These six officers answered the call and assisted in the investigation of the marathon bombing as well as the April 19th manhunt that eventually led to the capture of second bombing suspect, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.

Canton Man Dies in Rhode Island Car Crash

Rhode Island State Police said a Canton man died late Wednesday night after suffering injuries from a car accident on Route 95.

RI State Police received several 9-1-1 calls around 11:10 p.m. on May 1 about a serious motor vehicle crash at the off-ramp of Route 95 and Route 113 in Warwick R.I.

According to police, Edwin A. McDaid, 46, of 24 Forge Pond in Canton, was driving a 2012 Jeep on Route 95 south and attempted to exit onto Route 113 at Exit 12A in Warwick, when instead he drove off the left side of the ramp through a patch of grass before rolling over onto the driver's side of the vehicle.
