Erland Construction recently completed a multi-phased renovation and new construction project for Dedham Country Day School’s Lower School.

Teaming with Epstein Joslin Architects of Cambridge and Owner’s Representative, Casali Group of Boston, Erland completed this project before the start of the 2012-2013 school year.

“Dedham Country Day School is a new client of ours and we’re excited to have wrapped up our first project for them successfully” said Erland Vice President and Academic Group Manager, Rick Jensen. “The logistics of working within the constrained campus was a challenge and we’re proud of this beautiful new addition to DCDS’s campus.”

To start, Erland demolished one of the two connected classroom buildings and then built a new 2-story, 8,382 square foot building to replace it.

This new structure houses the kindergarten and first grade on the first floor and the third grade on the second floor and features reading and music spaces in addition to regular classrooms. For the second phase of work, Erland renovated the Lower School’s remaining 2-story, 8,333 square foot building. Modifications to toilet rooms and offices were also done.
