Dedham Farmer's Market Receives Grant to Help Kick Off Its Sixth Season

The Dedham Institution for Savings Foundation awarded the Dedham Square Circle with a grant that will allow Dedham's Farmers Market to come back on June 19.

Thanks to a grant from the Dedham Institution for Savings Foundation, the Dedham Farmer’s Market will be able to kick-off its sixth season on June 19.

The grant was awarded to the Dedham Square Circle, the non-profit that currently manages the Market.  The market features six local farms, a greenhouse and ten specialty food vendors.

This year the Market will be held on the green in front of the First Church of Dedham.

Susie McIntosh, President, Dedham Square Circle, believes that they have “kept the bar high with the quality of the Farmers Market, it provides a great experience for local residents and visitors to Dedham Square.”

The Dedham Institution for Savings Foundation has helped the Dedham Square Circle over the years to make improvements in Dedham Square.

In 2007, the Foundation provided money for the organization’s pilot Sign and Facade Improvement Program which provided design assistance and funding for merchants looking to make improvements to their storefronts.

“We wouldn’t have been able to help over 16 local businesses without the Bank’s support,” says Amy Haelsen, Executive Director, Dedham Square Circle. “Dedham Savings’ generosity has allowed us to continue our efforts to revitalize Dedham Square, making it a place we can all enjoy and be proud of,” says Haelsen.  “We are so grateful for their continued support.”
