DHAC will be designated as the official home of Boston College men’s and women’s tennis teams and will host  NCAA matches and practices for the Eagles throughout the 2013 season, providing BC with more than 500 hours of match and practice time on the complex’s 11 indoor hard courts. Heading into the 2013 season, The Eagles look forward to once again taking on a challenging slate of the Atlantic Coast Conference and New England teams.

While terms of the deal were not disclosed, DHAC and BC Tennis will collaborate on joint promotions, with the intention of building a long-term and mutually-beneficial relationship.

“Boston College has a rich history in competitive athletics and we’re proud to welcome its outstanding tennis players to their new home courts at Dedham Health,” DHAC owner Lloyd Gainsboro said. “We’ve made tennis a core offering at our complex since its inception and we look forward to hosting exciting college tennis this year, and to building a lasting partnership with a venerable institution.”

Founded in 1863, BC has an impressive track record of successful athletics programs. The BC Tennis program offers both men’s and women’s teams fall and spring play. Head Coach Scott Wilkins is at the helm of the men’s team, and Head Coach Nigel Bentley leads the women’s. The men will begin spring play on Jan. 18 at the Harvard Invitational in Cambridge; the women’s team will begin its spring season with a dual match on Jan. 19 versus Dartmouth in Hanover, N.H.

“Through our partnership with the Dedham Health & Athletic Complex, our student athletes have the opportunity to train and play in one of the area’s foremost tennis facilities,” said BC College Director of Athletics Brad Bates. “Dedham Health is an impressive fitness center, with cutting-edge offerings that will enhance our team training and match play. We look forward to introducing our team to the Dedham Health membership, and to building a strong relationship that we hope will last for years to come.”
