Police Log: Pedestrian Hit in Dedham Square

The following is an excerpt from the Dedham Police Department log from Feb. 9-12. Please note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account.

Sunday, Feb. 12

  • At 4:02 a.m., police responded to for a report of an assault during a party. The victim wanted to report on record, but didn't want to file charges.
  • At 3:21 p.m., a pedestrian was hit as she crossed Eastern Avenue between and the Keystone Lot. The driver of the vehicle told police at the scene that he was driving less than 10 mph, but did not see the pedestrian. The pedestrian was conscious at the scene and complained of pain on her left side. She was transported to Faulkner Hospital. Police will be seeking a complaint against the driver, who they did not identify, for charges of operating to endanger and failure to yield to a pedestrian.
  • At 10:27 p.m., police arrested 31-year-old Vincent Zeolla, of Dedham, on charges of assault with a dangerous weapon. Police didn't release details of the arrest.

Saturday, Feb. 11

  • At 4:10 p.m., police fielded report that a resident's car had been broken into twice in the past month while parked on Pine Street.

Friday, Feb. 10

  • At 5:27 p.m., police responded to on Bussey Street for a report of a shoplifter. No one was arrested.
  • At 6:36 p.m., police responded to at Legacy Place for a report of a shoplifter. Police didn't make an arrest.
  • At 9:23 p.m., officers issued a citation to a vehicle parked at Station 250 after they found it blocking a handicap ramp access area.

Thursday, Feb. 9

  • At 7:08 a.m., Victor Sean Chipchase, 21 of Dedham, was arrested and charged with domestic assault and threat to commit a crime.
  • At 11:50 a.m., two suspects took off from on Providence Highway after stealing a Playstation gaming system. Police could not locate the vehicle they left in.
