Joseph W. "Joe" O'Brien, Dedham Native, Dies at 58

Visiting hours will be held today from 1:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. at Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton St., in Dedham. The burial will be private.

  Joseph W. “Joe” O’Brien, a 25 year resident of Norwood and formerly of Dedham, died suddenly on Monday, Jan. 21, 2013. He was 58-years-old. Joe was born in Boston and grew up in Dedham. He was the son of the late Walter E. “Doc” O’Brien and Anna M. (LaVita) O’Brien. Joe was passionate about where he came from, East Dedham and was the chairman of the Old Mill Reunion for many years. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge, Dedham and the Elks Lodge of Norwood, and he was a former Assistant Manager at Home Depot in Norwood. He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Mary B. Eileen Ann Carlson, Dedham Native, Dies at 72

The Mass of Christian burial will be held today at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church.

  Eileen Ann Carlson, 72, of Cadillac, Michigan passed away September 18, 2012. She was born on November 29, 1939 in Boston, MA and grew up in Dedham. She was the proud daughter of Georgetown Law School graduate, George Francis and elementary teacher, Eileen Frances (White) Connors. Her strong Boston-Irish-Catholic upbringing guided her throughout her life; she loved the Red Sox, and enjoyed her work at Catholic Human Services. She was an ACBL (American Contract Bridge League) member and in January 2012 attained the distinction of Silver Life Master. She was also certified as an ACBL club director. As an avid duplicate bridge player, nothing excited her more than playing at week-long bridge tournaments around the country - especially the …
