CVS Employees Required to Report Weight, Body Fat for Insurance

Employees at the drugstores who don't report will face increased rates.

  What would you do if you went in to work one day and your employer told you that you needed to report your weight, body fat and glucose levels or your insurance costs would jump by $600 a year? CVS employees are dealing with that very issue right now, according to the Boston Herald. "This is an incredibly coercive and invasive thing to ask employees to do,” Patient Privacy Rights founder Dr. Deborah Peel told the Herald, adding that mounting health care costs have made these policies increasingly common. According to the Herald's report, CVS Caremark employs 200,000 workers and all of them, are being required to report their metrics by May 1. Tylenol Out at Eastern Avenue CVS

Manufacturing problems also left the CVS stores in Dedham with a limited supply of the pain reliever.

  A manufacturing problem at Tylenol parent Johnson & Johnson has left many area CVS stores without the popular pain reliever. The CVS on Eastern Avenue was out of Tylenol, though it had plenty of its own brand of Acetaminophen.  As of 12 p.m. they only had a few 50 count boxes of the "rapid release" capsules. The CVS stores on Bussey Street and Providence Highway had a limited supply as of Friday afternoon. A CVS spokesman told Reuters that CVS will try to have Tylenol in stores in each market, but will not be able to stock every store.  Tylenol has battled manufacturing issues for years, and that's led to customers being more comfortable taking private-label versions of Acetaminophen, which is Tylenol's chemical name.
