Dedham senior Jenna Savi tallied five points Tuesday as she eclipsed Patrice Vettori's record.

Dedham High School senior Jenna Savi broke the school's soccer scoring record - boy's or girl's - Tuesday afternoon as she registered four goals and an assist in a 5-1 win against Brookline. The five-point game comes on the heels of a four-point performance Saturday against Norwood giving Savi 125 points for her career - three more than 2010 graduate Patrice Vettori, coach Don Savi said. The Marauders jumped on Brookline early, going up 4-1 20 minutes into the game. Senior Sarah Warjas scored Dedham's other goal against Brookline. On Saturday, Dedham played their first game on the turf field at DHS and beat rival Norwood 5-0. VIDEO: Dedham's Chances Headed Out by Newton North

Newton North used an early goal to beat Dedham 1-0 at Fairbanks Park on Wednesday.

The Dedham High School girl's soccer coaching staff entered Wednesday's affair with Newton North knowing the Tigers' passing game has led them to near the top of the Bay State League. Nine minutes into the contest, the Marauders had a first-hand look as Newton North (9-1-2, 8-1-2) executed a near-perfect give-and-go down the left sideline that set-up a goal by Holly Szafran, the team's leading scorer. Szafran one-timed the ball into the upper left corner with an assist from Shannon Fitzgerald.  Dedham (10-3-2, 6-3-2) outshot the Tigers, but couldn't get anything past goalie Maddie Bledsoe. The Marauders will play rival Norwood Saturday evening at Dedham High School's new turf field.

PHOTOS: Marauders Knot Wamps in Muddy Affair

The Dedham girl's soccer team tied 1-1 Braintree Tuesday afternoon.

It didn't downpour for long Tuesday afternoon, but when it did the Dedham High School Marauders quickly saw the disadvantage of playing on grass. At the 30-minute mark Braintree scored the game's first goal as Dedham keeper Ellen Masalsky slipped on a mud patch in front of the goal. "The field conditions were tough for both teams," Dedham coach Don Savi said following the match. "Unfortunately it rained after the match started. At that point you obviously want to finish the game. You don't want to have an official game at half." The Wamps lead didn't last long as a minute later, Dedham sophomore Emily Pike scored the game-tying goal for the Marauders. Dedham (9-1-2) was without senior captain Sarah Warjas, who will return for Thursday's …

Roller Coaster Week for Dedham Softball

After facing 'powerhouse' Norwood, Dedham beats up on Brookline on Wednesday.

Dedham softball continued with their roller coaster ride through the rain and their Bay State League schedule Wednesday afternoon, with a lofty 26-1 win over Brookline. The game was played at Sugrue Field at Parks and Recreation due to the inclement weather and the Marauders responded by jumping out to an early 14-0 lead after one inning against a troubled Brookline team. One bright spot for Dedham (10-6) was freshman, and hockey sensation, Colleen Downing’s first inning home run that cleared the short left field porch for her first career home run. When asked whether this was as big as scoring a goal for the Marauder hockey team, Downing responded, "I think this is bigger than scoring a goal. You don’t get them as often." That might be …
