What Grade Would You Give Dedham for Plowing the Streets?

Dedham residents, how well did the town handle the snowstorm?

  Is your street clear? Are you still buried? Is your mailbox still standing? On Friday and Saturday, Newport experienced a snow storm it will not soon forget. Several residents took to Facebook, the Patch site and Twitter to talk about the plowing. Here's what a few residents had to say: @DedhamPatch: What's up with the roads in Dedham? Why haven't East, High streets been plowed? As the piles of snow remain, we want to know how you grade the town's response (or state's) to yesterday's major snowstorm. Does the town get an A? B? C? People have difficulties grasping that an average road received about 300,000 cubic feet of snow per mile during the 2013 blizzard. Even if compacted once plowed, It's a lot to move, remove or truck away. Furthermore, during such an emergency, large businesses, supermarkets, etc, are paying more than the town, hence it is extremely difficult to find contractors or machinery available for "extra …   more ›
