Dedham Police Logs: Vehicle Break-Ins, Suspicious Package and Shoplifting

The following information was provided by the Dedham Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

Tuesday, Nov. 20 9:26 p.m. - A local resident reported to police that his vehicle had been entered while parked in a lot along Washington Street. Missing from the vehicle, according to reports, was a backpack as well as another bag, articles of clothing and a few toys that belonged to his young child.  Friday, Nov. 23 9:50 p.m. - Dedham Police arrested a 25-year-old Boston woman on a warrant issued for larceny over $250.  Saturday, Nov. 24 1:35 p.m. - Police arrested a 26-year-old Boston man for possession of a Class B substance with intent to distribute, in addition to charges of having a revoked license.  2:10 p.m. - A Dorchester man, age 23, was arrested on Veterans Road for a second offense of shoplifting.  7:41 p.m. - While on patrol …

Dedham Police Logs: Identity Theft, Shoplifting, and More

Tuesday, Sept. 25 (12:07 a.m.) According to police reports, officers responded to a report of an unwanted female. When police arrived, they spoke with a resident who wanted his roommate's girlfriend removed from the apartment. He complained that the girlfriend was always there and should be paying rent for that reason. The couple was in one of the bedrooms and didn't pose "any sort of annoyance." The police had to explain to the person that rental/roommate agreements does not warrant police involvement, and to take it up with the landlord if he feels the woman is a burden. Dedham Police Logs: Underage Drinking, Shoplifting, and Marijuana

The following information was provided by the Dedham Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

  Wednesday, September 5 (8:49 p.m.) According to police reports, a woman was caught shoplifting from a store on Bussey Street.  When officers arrived and met with the Loss Prevention Officer, she had already been detained.  Surveilance observed her taking several eyeglasses from the store without paying for them.  The value of these items was $170.  She was notified by police that she will be summonsed to Dedham District Court. Friday, September 7 (9:11 p.m.)- Dedham Police were on patrol because of the large crowd for Dedham High's football game.  Two officers took two youth into custody for underage drinking.  The two were observed drinking Bud Light Beer from cans.  Once the two youth arrived at the station they were allowed to contact…

Thursday, Aug. 16  Car Entered on Providence Highway (10:45 a.m.) - Police received report of a shattered vehicle window on Providence Highway. Upon arrival, police found another vehicle on the road had also been entered. The owner reported that she returned to her vehicle in a nearby parking lot and noticed that her front passenger window as shattered and her pocketbook was missing. Dedham Police Logs: When Road Rage Gets the Best of You

This is a story that was in the Dedham Police Logs for August 6-August 13.

  On August 8 at approximately 4:45 p.m. a woman ran into the police station.  She was explaining how a man was assaulting a woman at the traffic light in Dedham Square.  Two officers approached the scene. According to the witness, she was just sitting at a red light when she noticed the man who was in front of her get out of his car, walk up to the women in a car in front of him, and began yelling at the driver while reaching inside. The two officers approached them and started questioning.  The female driver reported that she had no idea who the man was.  But she noticed him tailgating, and yelling out of his window at her. I know that there are drivers out there that do suck and drive badly. I used to get mad. I've given up on it. You have to take the get'em next time approach and let it go. I'd rather go home alive then end up on the side of the road in a wreck dead any day. If someone is really out of hand I'll write the plate down and report it. It's just a safer way to be.   more ›

  Monday, July 30 Dedham Man Arrested for Assault and Battery (11:40 p.m.) - Around 11:20 p.m. Dedham police received a call for a suspicious party on Stafford St. Responding officers placed 47-year-old Paul G. Dedham Police Logs: Rollover on Route 128, House Fire

  Monday, July 23 Tractor-Trailer Rollover on Route 128 (1:05 p.m.) - Massachusetts State Police responded to a tractor-trailer rollover on Route 128 southbound near East St. No injuries reported, police closed down two lanes of traffic while the accident was cleared. Teen Mischief on Grant Ave. (6:03 p.m.) - Caller on Grant Ave. reported three teen males on the railroad tracks throwing rocks and yelling. When officers responded, no youths were found.   Thursday, July 19 Tires Slashed on Two Vehicles (7:46 a.m.) - Police received a call for malicious damage to vehicles on Vincent Road. Report states tires slashed on two vehicles. Female Arrested for Armed Robbery, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (6:32 p.m.) - Police responded to a report of five females fighting on Milton St., with bottles possibly involved. One female suspect, Alicia Clarke, 22, of Dedham, was found walking toward Bussey St. and was arrested on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and armed robbery. Dedham Police Logs: Vehicles Broken Into, Man Arrested for Assault

  Thursday, July 12 GPS and Phone Charger Stolen from Car (9:12 a.m.) - Police received a call of a motor vehicle entered at an address on Hazelnut Pl. Larceny of GPS and phone charger reported. Police filed a report. Malicious Damage to Vehicles (10:33 a.m. and 4:23 p.m.) - Malicious damage to two vehicles on Colburn St. was reported to the police. One vehicle's tires were slashed and the air was let out of a second.   Saturday, July 7 Vehicle Hit at Whole Foods (3:35 p.m.) - Dedham Police responded to a report of a vehicle hit-and-run at Whole Foods Market in Legacy Place. Upon arrival, police determined that a brown 2011 Chevy Malibu was unoccupied when it was struck by a vehicle parked next to it while pulling out of the parking lot. The vehicle had minor but noticeable damage on the driver's side corner, according to reports.
