Dedham Business Spotlight: Aquitaine French BIstro at Legacy Place

This french bistro is inspired by neighborhood bistros in Paris.

  Aquitaine French Bistro at Legacy Place is the newest in the Aquitaine Group owned by partners Matthew Burns, Executive Chef Seth Woods and Jeffrey Gates. The group is a well known and respected Boston restaurant company with restaurants throughout Boston and surrounding towns. They include the Aquitaine Bar a Vin Bistro, Metropolis Cafe, Union Bar and Grille, Gaslight Brasserie du Coin, Aquitaine Chestnut Hill and now, Aquitaine French Bistro in Dedham. The group received Best of Boston Awards in 2008, 2009, 2010, Diner's Choice Winner in 2010, Dig This Awards 2010, 2009 Boston's Best - Improper Bostonian and 2010 South End Favorites. Making a Dream into Reality at The Gallery

Zachary Curro is only 20-years-old, but was able to open up his own business by Legacy Place in Dedham.

  For many high school students, college seems to be the only option after graduation.  But when Zachary Curro graduated he knew that he wanted to own his own business. Curro was 20-years-old when he opened The Gallery at 61 Legacy Blvd. in Dedham on Jan. 2. "I always wanted to own my own business," Curro said. "And it was scary at first because I didn't use a loan.  I ended up investing my whole life savings into this place." He decided to open an antique shop because of his love for antique shows and auctions. "Watching the shows on TV [like] antique shows and Storage Wars made me realize the fact that I like them because of the auctions." Curro said. Legacy Place is reporting that some stores will be closed today.

Armed Robbery Reported at Legacy Place

The incident occurred Saturday morning.

An armed robbery took place at Legacy Place Saturday morning, according to unconfirmed reports.  Suspects involved allegedly fled towards Showcase Cinema after using a knife.  Dedham Patch will provide more information as it becomes available.

Sephora Closed Due to Power Outage

Dedham Fire was on the site to resolve the issue.

Three Dedham Fire Trucks arrived at Sephora in Legacy Plaza due to a power outtage. There is no word on what caused the outage, but Dedham Fire is currently working to resolve the issue. In the meantime, Sephora will remain closed until power is restored.

Back-to-School: Kids Hunt for Supplies!

Legacy Place held a scavenger hunt for school supplies.

Over two hundred people came in search of school supplies, and it was all for free. Legacy Place held a Back-to-School scavenger hunt for kids who were going back to school. The kids were given a list of clues which would led to the store that had the items.  Free items included notebooks, pens, and erasers.

Dedham Police Logs: Female Arrested for Assault; Tires Slashed on Vincent Road

The following information was provided by the Dedham Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

  Thursday, July 19 Tires Slashed on Two Vehicles (7:46 a.m.) - Police received a call for malicious damage to vehicles on Vincent Road. Report states tires slashed on two vehicles. Female Arrested for Armed Robbery, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (6:32 p.m.) - Police responded to a report of five females fighting on Milton St., with bottles possibly involved. One female suspect, Alicia Clarke, 22, of Dedham, was found walking toward Bussey St. and was arrested on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and armed robbery. Friday, July 20 IPad and Other Belongings Taken from Car (1:16 p.m.) - Police logs state a vehicle at a Boston-Providence Highway address with a smashed window. The Met to Appear on Food Network's 'Chef Wanted'

Viewing parties will be held at Met restaurant locations in Chestnut Hill, Back Bay, Dedham, Natick and Nantucket.

  Food Network is no stranger to Massachusetts. In the Newton area; the culinary channel has featured a number of local chefs and eateries including Eunice Feller of Bread & Chocolate, Phyllis Kaplowitz of Bakers' Best, local cooking show host Candy Gold as well as Cutty's sandwich shop and Japonaise Bakery in Brookline.  The latest Boston appearance on Food Network will come this Thursday when Met Back Bay will be featured on the new show "Chef Wanted" with Anne Burrell.  According to an email sent by The Met, viewing parties will be held at all Met restaurant locations, including the location at Dedham's Legacy Place.  "Chef Wanted" is the latest competition show out of Food Network. The votes are in for this week's Best of Readers' Choice poll.
