Kings' Owners to Pay $424,000 in Back Wages and Liquidated Damages to 409 Underpaid Workers

The Lyons Group, owners of a group of restaurants in the Boston area, have agreed to pay proper wages to 409 employees.

  A group of Boston-area restaurants and their owners, Patrick Lyons and Edward Sparks, have come to an agreement to pay $424,000 to 409 employees for Fair Labor Standards Act violations.  Out of the amount, $212,000 will be in back wages and "liquidated damages."  Kings in Dedham is one of the restaurants listed. According to an investigation that was done by the Department of Labor's Wage and Hour Division, employees at Kings were not compensated for all work hours. Usually when an employee works over 40 hours, they are suppose to receive time and one-half their regular rate.  The investigation found that these employees were only paid the regular rate. “Utilizing contract labor providers does not absolve employers from their …

Celtic Players Sighted at Kings

New Boston Celtic guard Jason Terry let loose with fellow NBA players including Wizards PG John Wall and Orlando Magic PG Jameer Nelson in the private "King Pin" room at Kings Lanes in Dedham, MA.

The players enjoyed great food and showed off their skills on the lanes.  When asked if the Celtics were going to win the championship this year, Jason Terry was happy to show his confidence by showing off his brand new tattoo featuring "Lucky," the Celtics mascot hoisting the championship trophy on his finger.

CELEBRITY SIGHTING: David Ortiz Bowls Some Strings in Dedham

The Red Sox player enjoyed a night of bowling with his family.

He bowled two games with his family in our private “King Pin Room” and enjoyed Nachos, Sesame Ginger Wings and Buffalo Wontons. He was very friendly; he had a great time and signed a KINGS bowling pin as he left.

'Peter Brady' Joins Kings in Benefit for Journey Forward

The event raised more than $49,000 for the Canton-based organization.

  What do Marilyn Monroe, Elvis and Peter Brady have in common? Visitors to Kings Dedham at Legacy Place found out March 27, when Kings'bowling alley transformed into a Vegas Casino to benefit Journey Forward, a nonprofit organization based in Canton that works to better the lives of those with spinal cord injuries. The evening featured blackjack, craps, roulette, bowling, costumed staff and more in an event that was as spectacular as it was philanthropic.    Highlighting the event was special guest emcee Christopher Knight, who played the beloved Peter Brady on the iconic “Brady Bunch” and has received more recent fame on the reality series “My Fair Brady.” Mr. Knight chatted with the crowd, and expertly ran the silent and live auctions …

'Dead Zone' Actor Bowls at Kings

Anthony Michael Hall visited Kings on Tuesday.

He's starred in and produced Stephen King's "Dead Zone," had roles in The Dark Knight and the TV show Community. And last week actor Anthony Michael Hall paid a visit to Kings with his family for a day of food and bowling. Hall posed for pictures with Kings staff and signed a bowling pin during his visit. For those 1980s movie lovers out there, Hall also appeared in The Breakfast Club and Sixteen Candles.
