Dello Iacono won the contested seat on the Parks and Recreation Commission
Sarah MacDonald and Paul Reynolds each won all seven precincts in Dedham's town election as they both earned three-year terms on the Board of Selectmen. Challenger George Panagopoulos finished third with 1,155 votes, Robert O'Connell received 523 votes and Sabino "Citizen Sam" Celata received 268 votes. When Reynolds and MacDonald ran for the first time, in 2008, Reynolds received 32 percent of the vote and MacDonald received 28 percent. In this year's race, MacDonald received 28.3 percent and Reynolds received 27.9 percent of the vote. Current School Committee chairman Tom Ryan will serve another three years on the board. He received 1,935 votes. In a battle for an open seat, Susan Butler Walko beat John Maida by 700 votes. Maida will …

Dedham voters will decide two seats for Board of Selectmen, two for School Committee and one contested seat for the Parks and Recreation Commission.
Voters will get a chance to settle a two-month campaign at the polls Saturday as candidates in three contested races will see if the hours of holding signs, debating and talking issues will pay off. Two seats are up for grabs on the Board of Selectmen and the School Committee while one seat on the Parks and Recreation Commission is under contention. Three years ago two new faces - Sarah MacDonald and Paul Reynolds - stormed into the Francis O'Brien Meeting Room by sweeping each of the seven precincts. Now they face two newcomers - Robert O'Connell and George Panagopoulos - and perennial candidate Sabino "Citizen Sam" Celata. Candidates have spent the better part of three debates dissecting the Dedham Square Improvement Project, including …

Dedham Patch asked the two candidates for Parks and Recreation Commission three questions. This is the third of a three-part series.
In the second of a three-part series, Dedham Patch asked the two candidates for Parks and Recreation Commission: Under a proposed warrant article, the DPW would take over field maintenance responsibilities from Parks and Rec. What's your opinion on this and how will it effect the department and the fields? Chuck Dello Iacono A plan needs to be put together and followed by a great deal of research. I’m not talking about an elected body study either, the study should be performed by the people who us the parks the most. A collaborative of mothers, fathers, seniors, veterans, nannies, board members of sports groups such as baseball, softball, football, and soccer, and, of course, the children. There is no question that the DPW director Joe …

Dedham Patch asked the two candidates for Parks and Recreation Commission three questions. This is the second of a three-part series.
In the second of a three-part series, Dedham Patch asked the two candidates for Parks and Recreation Commission: The commission has focused on playgrounds for the past couple years, with Condon Park last on the list, what will you push for the commission to focus on for the next term? Donald Reisner With all due respect I do not agree with the context of this question. During my last two terms we have not just focused on playgrounds. Yes, we have new playgrounds at Paul and Churchill parks and a new proposed playground at Condon. However, we as a board have focused on playgrounds, parking, sidewalks, handicapped accessibility, safety and well and irrigation systems at all of our parks. We have a sex offender bylaw that states no convicted …

Dedham Patch asked the two candidates for Parks and Recreation Commission three questions. This is the first of a three-part series.
In the first of a three-part series, Dedham Patch asked the two candidates for Parks and Recreation Commission: What new programs would you try to start that would be able to pay for themselves, or even better, make a profit? Chuck Dello Iacono Senior wellness programs will be my main priority and access fees are a subject I take very seriously. Dedham residents are taxed to death already. Increasing program fees for residents in my eyes is another form of taxation. Fees should be set to operate the programs only. We should not be seeking a profit for our coffers from the residents of Dedham. That said, non-residents are a different ballgame all together. User fees for a non-resident should be at least double the cost of the Dedham …
