Dedham Youth Basketball Wraps-up Season
Sponsored by the folks at the Needham Savings Bank, Dedham Youth Basketball is a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization, whose goal is to provide a safe and enjoyable recreational activity for the children of our town.
Each year, dozens upon dozens of local boys and girls, take to the basketball courts of the Dedham Middle School and Dedham High School the first week of December. Each Saturday morning, for 12 weeks, all participants are encouraged to have fun, and develop fundamental skills in the game of basketball. Under the direction of co-presidents, John Maida and Jim Alger, with the help of Mike Tavares and Joe Borsellino, the children are divided in to age/grade appropriate divisions. Regardless of past experience and ability, Dedham Youth Basketball makes every effort to place these boys and girls evenly, on teams that “compete” against one another each week.
