Dedham Community House Tree Sale

The Dedham Community House’s annual Tree & Wreath Sale was off to a festive start last weekend, opening to a dusting of snow. More than 100 trees and 75 wreaths were purchased in the first of two weekends of the sale. Many more beautiful six to ten foot Balsam Firs from Novia Scotia, wreaths and gorgeous handmade bows remain for the final weekend of the sale this Saturday and Sunday Dec. 8 and 9. Sale runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. until supplies last on Sunday.  Volunteers working the sale are happy to give your tree a fresh cut and tie it onto your car. Dedham Community House Celebrates 90 Years

The Dedham Community House will be celebrating its 90th Anniversary in two ways, by having a gala along and an outdoor fair.

  The Dedham Community House (DCH) will be holding its 90th Anniversary Gala on Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. The organizers of the event are proud that DCH has been able to remain a "valuable resource" for the Dedham community. "We are really excited for this milestone celebration," Executive Director Michelle Persson Reilly said.  "Our volunteer planning committee has done a tremendous job and has a fun and festive evening planned.  Guests are sure to find plenty of delicious food, leave with fun photo momentoes and hopefully with some of our high-demand auction items such as sports tickets, Seinfeld tickets, or even an eliptical machine!" The cost to attend the gala will be $60 in advance and $65 at the door.  But if you can't afford the tickets, …

Fun for Kids Day Brings Games, Activities to Dedham

Third annual 4Cs Fun for Kids Day offers entertainment for all ages while benefitting Children's Hospital Boston.

Clouds filled the Dedham skies Saturday, but the Dedham Community House offered a bright spot for children and adults on an overcast afternoon.  The community house hosted the third annual Fun for Kids Day, a fundraiser benefitting Children's Hospital Boston.  At least 100 people attended this year's event.  "It's been great," event founder Mark Consentino said. "There's been so much work, but we've had a great turnout." Consentino created the 4Cs for Kids Fund, a nonprofit organization providing support to Children's Hospital Boston. The event founder said the afternoon festivities allow attendees to have fun while raising funds for a good cause. "My main goal is for kids to have a great time, win some prizes and to raise money for the …

Event offers bright spot on a cloudy afternoon for attendees of all ages.

New Kids on the Block rocked Fenway Park on Saturday night, but dozens of musicians and artists brought the "right stuff" to Dedham Square. The Dedham Community House celebrated creativity with its fourth annual Dedham Square Music and Art Festival on Saturday. The event featured tunes, artwork and booths displaying local creativity.  "It's been a fine day," Dedham Community House program director Joshua Walther said. "The music has been really good, and there's been a variety of people showing up." Walther has helped organize the last three festivals. The DCH program director said this year's event boasts the largest musical lineup to date. "The festival grows more and more every year," Walther said. "Our goal is to make the festival a …
