The congressman said he is giving "serious consideration" to a run for Senate.
Another Massachusetts Congressman is seriously considering a run for Sen. John Kerry’s seat in a special election this year. Congressman Stephen Lynch is reportedly talking to “well-known political consultants” and planning a possible run in a Democratic primary, reported The Boston Herald. “I am giving serious consideration to a run for the United States Senate and am grateful for the support and encouragement I have received in recent days,” Lynch said in a statement to the Herald. The Democratic frontrunner to take Kerry’s seat is Congressman Ed Markey, who is the longest serving member of Congress from Massachusetts. Kerry and Vicki Kennedy, the widow of the late Sen. Edward Kennedy, have already thrown their support behind Markey. …

That bottle of milk you brought this week, could be double the price if the current farm bill expires with action being taken by the legislature, according to a report on dailyfinance.com and aol.com. The Farm Bill, which was started in 1933, is updated every five years or more. Right now, it is tied up in the legislature and being affected by the Fiscal Cliff negotiations. The New York Times reported if the present Farm Bill expires, the price equation go to its 1949 standard and government would pay more for milk. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack said farmers will be in a hurry to sell to the governament, creating a shortage in the stores. It is estimated the price of milk could go as high as $8 from a current average of $3.69.

Stephen Lynch met with Dedham residents Monday morning.
Congressman Stephen Lynch (D-Boston) fielded questions from Dedham residents Monday morning at the Endicott Estate as part of a "Congress on your Corner" event. Here are some of his comments on various issues: Trade Agreements "Maybe there was a time that we were doing so well in this country with jobs and our industrial base that we could afford to make deals like that - but those days are gone. We are trading away jobs left and right." Occupy Movement "I was wondering where the anger was when they did that - over $700 billion for the banks. I was furious, because I knew what was going on. I think the issue was a little bit more complex than people could appreciate immediately. Now you see these folks down at Occupy Wall Street, and I …

The two Democratic candidates for Congress were at a public event for just the second time this campaign season.
In just their second on-stage appearance together on Thursday, the two Democratic candidates for Congress, Mac D'Alessandro and Stephen Lynch, got a bit testy toward the end of their time on stage. When the opponents were asked how they differed from one another, Lynch, the incumbent, called out his challenger for caricature representations in mailings of him. One reported mailing has Lynch with elephant ears and a tusk, portraying him as a Republican, calling attention to his voting record. "Even though it's been done to me, I think you just want to bring out the best in the political process," Lynch said. "I would never engage in a negative campaign or send nasty things out in the mail." For the two minutes he addressed elderly voters …
