Boston College (BC) and Dedham Health & Athletic Complex (DHAC) today announced that DHAC, New England’s largest integrated health and wellness facility, will serve as the new home court for the Boston College Athletics’ Tennis program. DHAC will be designated as the official home of Boston College men’s and women’s tennis teams and will host NCAA matches and practices for the Eagles throughout the 2013 season, providing BC with more than 500 hours of match and practice time on the complex’s 11 indoor hard courts. New England is home to regular earthquake activity.
New Englanders from Maine to Massachusetts and perhaps as far away as Rhode Island felt the 4.0 magnitude earthquake centered in Lake Arrowhead, Maine early Tuesday night. It was the largest earthquake in New England since 1982 when a 4.7 quake centered in Laconia, New Hampshire shook homes and rattled shelves. Dr. John Ebel, a geophysics professor at Boston College and director of the Weston Observatory Boston College, said earthquakes start to cause damage when they reach a 5.0 magnitude. As far the quake goes, he suspects that homes near the epicenter may have had some dishes rattle and cracking in old plaster walls. New England is no stranger to earthquake activity. Kevin Hayes scores in Frozen Four matchup, helps the Eagles claim third title in five years.
Former Noble and Greenough hockey star Kevin Hayes notched a goal in Boston College's 6-1 drubbing of the University of Minnesota in the NCAA tournament semifinals as the Eagles went on to win the National Championship Saturday evening. Hayes added an assist in the Eagles' 4-1 win against Ferris State on Saturday. Hayes' goal against Minnesota came on the powerplay and served as the game winning goal. The sophomore finished his second season with the Eagles with seven goals, 21 helpers in 44 games. He was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the first round of the 2010 NHL draft.

Carmen Dello Iacono III will play tight end for the Eagles this coming season.
Although no media guide exists for Dedham High School football, Jake Santamaria, the school's former principal and athletic director, rattled off college football programs alumni went on to play for. There's Brown, UMass-Amerst and Harvard, and a handful of others. But there's just one other player who went on to play in a power six conferences - Big East, ACC, Pac-12, SEC, Big 10 and Big 12. Until now. Carmen Dello Iacono III, a 2011 graduate of DHS, earned a try-out with Boston College last week, and won a spot on the 2012 team. State Police have no updates at this time. 12:53 p.m.] It's been a week since friends and family have seen missing Boston College student Franco Garcia. He was last spotted at Mary Ann's bar in Cleveland Circle (Brighton) around 12:15 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22. Garcia, a West Newton resident, is described as a Hispanic male, 21, about 5'9" tall and 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue-and-white-striped button-down shirt, a North Face jacket, and glasses.
