Historian Nancy Carlisle will be on hand Thursday.
The Dedham Historical Society has a longstanding reputation of preserving homes in town, but tomorrow, the group will focus on one particular room when it hosts America’s Kitchens historian and curator Nancy Carlisle. Carlisle’s presentation will tell “the story of this important room, at times a harried workspace and at others the sentimental heart of the home,” according to a press release on Historical Society’s website. Through the cast-iron cookstove, the Hoosier cabinet and other culinary developments, Carlisle will take guests through the kitchen and demonstrate how this one room transformed the lives of generations of people.
