Let's ask our state and local government to help the wind turbine victims in Massachusetts. We allRead More know the government wants the minority of residents to lose their health and property rights with NO compensation so the majority can enjoy fossil free air- Call your local politicians and help make them understand that Massachusetts is creating a second class group of citizens called the "wind turbine victims"

"mngordo" -- Your precious Saint Trayvon was a anti-white racist homophobicRead More gangsta-wannabe, none of which the media chose to dwell on -- but those are the (un-PC) facts. Just because a night-watchman was following you does not give you the right to bash his head into the pavement. Your sympathy for this creep is highly misplaced, thanks to the media turning him into a martyr (or maybe your own anti-white racism).

Lots of important things going on. One being Russia slowly taking over portions of the UkraineRead More under false pretenses of "protecting Russian speaking residents from aggression by a US backed terrorist regime", and we get stories on peanut butter and fluff.

The Fluffernutter SHOULD be the symbol of Massachusetts POLITICIANS at all levels. - - - They wasteRead More time on FLUFF and NUTTERY. - - - But, perhaps, it is not entirely the pols fault. The lapdog media must share part of the blame. - - - A case in point: This stupid story made Patch, but hugely wasteful public works projects and gross public sector union contracts are never mentioned. - - - But the pols know perfectly well they will NEVER be held to account for ANYTHING, because they can distract the media and the public with nonsense like a state sandwich. - - - I think we should have a 'state horses anatomy part'. I leave it to the reader to figure out WHICH part I'd suggest... HINT: Look under the tail.

Michael - the "progeny" vs. "prodigy" was an example that I was using for theRead More whole board here (or any other board). No, your post was fine and obviously I didn't misunderstand you. I was aiming that more at a lot of folks whom I truly can't understand. You just happened to be lucky enough to misuse a word and then accuse people of not comprehending what they're reading. As far as labelling me/us as woman-haters, again that was aimed at a few other people. And actually, if I am a troll, I just troll for the opportunity to rip on people for using sweeping generalities.

Not to beat a dead horse, but the last time you mentioned this I offered the opinion that an HRRead More director for a $100M operation would be foolish to undertake a search for that operation's CEO on his/her own. A good HR director knows when to activate consultants who can more than make back their fees by conducting an effective, efficient search that results in an ideal candidate. Imagine the money wasted by not finding the right talent, having an extended search (with the office vacant), and potentially hiring a less-than-ideal candidate? Spend the money up front and reap the rewards in the long term, and the HR director should spend their time vetting and evaluating the perfect search firm rather than posting ads and doing dozens of first-level phone screenings.
Dan O'Neil April 24, 2014 at 06:41 am
Chris I do this for a living and for a much bigger entity then Dedham. The woman is more thanRead More qualified to post the position in multiple sites and collect resumes. This is a waste of money. You have a job and I'm sure your good at it. Would you want a consultant giving insight on a job you are already doing and qualified to do? Food for thought. You can't and won't sway me. It's a waste of money. As a town admin Keegan should not have been allowed to make that hire. I still stand by that but it's done she's here we are paying her. Let her do the job we are paying her to do.
Chris Masalsky April 24, 2014 at 11:01 am
Glad to see that you "won't be swayed" - always good to hear from someone who refuses toRead More entertain even the prospect of learning or changing their opinion. FYI, in my line of work we use consultants to help us improve, because we're not conceited enough to believe that we have all the answers. And we have a head of HR who uses search firms to find the right people for top positions, because the investment is well worth it. As someone in HR I would hope you would understand that the only thing worse than not finding the right person for an executive role within a reasonable timeframe is hiring the wrong person - the long-term financial consequences are devastating. And also I would hope you would understand that these roles are best filled by exploiting communication pathways and relationships that extend far beyond posting the position on job/career boards.

You cannot offer education to any person who has not had the foundation of paternal guidanceRead More beginning at birth. The maturation of the human entity revolves around initial care as an infant which means communication both oral and by tactile sensation. NURSING an infant is one of the MOST importatnt things that may be offered as a beginning point. Any amount of the process is good, but continuing for the better part of a year is best. TALKING to the infant is also paramount in awakening the receptiveness of the brain as the eyes develop and begin to truly see. Show and demonstrate any and all things. And continue through the pre-teen years. When ANY child is prepared in these ways he or she will be READY to begin secondary schooling and on into the college level and become a resposible, productive AMERICAN. Do as I did. Finish high school. Go to college & get a degree (I paid for myself). Be RESPONSIBLE for yourself. AND Be a GOOD PARENT.. PEPARE your child. THAT is YOUR JOB!!! And THANKS to my parents!!!
