Weekend Music, Styrofoam Recycling and Shopping in the Square

A roundup of things to do in the Dedham area this weekend includes music and drinks at the Paradise Cafe, getting rid of your Christmas packaging and enjoying the local art scene.

Music at the Paradise Cafe

Wrap up the holiday week with music and refreshments at the Paradise Cafe in Dedham Square. 

On Saturday, Dec. 28 at 8 p.m., the cafe will host the 7CS with The Electric Button Band, featuring special guest opener Laura May. The night's schedule is as follows:

  • 8-9 p.m. -- Laura May

Recycle Your Sytrofoam

If you have a pile of Styrofoam left over from the holidays, you're in luck. Dedham residents will have a chance to recycle Styrofoam at Dedham Middle School on Saturday, Dec. 28 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Dedham Middle School parking lot on Whiting Avenue.

Officials aren't able to recycle Styrofoam with the town's municipal hauler, and is working with ReFoamIt of Leominster to recycle it for residents. For more information on the event and Styrofoam recycling, click here. 

Shop in Dedham Square

Christmas is over, but for residents in Dedham who need to return gifts or make exchanges in Dedham Square, parking along the streets will remain free of charge through Jan. 5. Take advantage of the free meters or the large parking lot in Dedham Square, which is free of charge all day, every day. 

Art in the Air

Want to check out some great local art this weekend? Head over to the Dedham Square Artist Guild anytime between 12 and 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Sunday. 

During the month of December, the Guild is featuring the work of fabric artist Iris Sonnenschein and jewelry artist Barbara Taylor.
