Fire Chief To Speak on Department's History

Dedham Fire Chief William Spillane will speak to the Retired Men's Club this week on the department's history and techniques of fire fighting.
The Talk will take place on Friday, Jan. 24, 9:30 a.m. at the Endicott Estate. 
The Dedham Retired Men's Club invites any retired men to join us at one of our meetings for a FREE cup of coffee and a donut.

Dedham School of Music's monthly ACOUSTIC JAM at the MBACC

The Dedham School of Music cordially invites you (and your friends!) to join them on Friday, Jan. 24 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., for their monthly acoustic jam. The jam is part of a series of new and exciting programming that the Dedham School of Music is hosting at our space at Mother Brook Arts and Community Center (the old Avery School), 123 High Street in Dedham.
Come for all of it or drop in for a spell; either way you're welcome.
Bring an instrument (Stringed, percussion, brass, you name it! They have a piano in the room and will bring a few extra instruments.), a beverage, a snack, and a willingness to harmonize. Players of all levels are welcome.

The Big Picture: Rethinking Dyslexia Movie Screening

The Dedham Library Innovation Team cordially invites you to a free screening of the award-winning documentary, The Big Picture: Rethinking Dyslexia. This event is on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 9:30 a.m., followed by a brief discussion from an expert panel.

Meet Illustrators Melissa Guion and Jen Corace

The Blue Bunny Bookstore, 577 High Street, Dedham Square,  welcomes two acclaimed picture book illustrators, Melissa Guion and Jen Corace, on Saturday, January 25th, from 11 a.m to 12:30 p.m.
Melissa Guion and Jen Corace will be celebrating their newest works for young children with a reading and drawing demonstration, as well as a book signing.  Melissa Guion, author-illustrator of the highly reviewed BABY PENGUINS EVERYWHERE has just published the companion book BABY PENGUINS LOVE THEIR MAMAS, a Children's Book of the Month Club Selection.
And Jen Corace, illustrator of such favorites  as LITTLE PEA, LITTLE OINK and LITTLE HOOT, is celebrating her brand new book I HATCHED.
