Help Give Chance a 'Chance' for a New Home

Chance is available for adoption through the Animal Rescue League of Boston's Dedham shelter.

Chance is a 4-year-old Wheaten Terrier mix (under 20 pounds).

He was surrendered to the   because his family had to move and they were unable to take Chance with them.

This sweet little guy is looking for a second “chance” at a forever home. He is crate-trained and seems to have a grasp on housetraining, but may need a refresher when in a new home. He absolutely loves toys, especially if they squeak!

Chance is eager to learn and eager to please. He already knows sit, down, come and will also stand up and “dance” for a treat! Chance will be a great family dog and would be happy living with children, dogs and maybe even cats.

Apartment life may not be suitable as he can be a little talkative and sometimes cry when left home alone. He does have a long curly coat that will require brushing a few times per week and grooming every six weeks or so.

While this little guy is cute, funny and smart, he does have a minor flaw (that can be worked with). He is nervous when first meeting new people. Chance tends to bark and growl out of fear until comfortable enough to greet them. He will look to you for reassurance that it safe for to approach a new person. With time, patience and love (and treats), Chance will start to overcome his fears when looking to you for guidance in new situations.

Chance has been seen by the vet and given a clean bill of health. He is up to date on vaccinations and will be neutered and microchipped before going home.
