Kids Comedy and Magic Night for Strike 3 Foundation

Friday, February 28th, 6:30 p.m. The Blue Bunny Bookstore, 577 High Street in Dedham Square, is teaming up with the non-profit Catching Joy for a special “Kids Comedy Night.” The event will benefit Red Sox pitcher Craig Breslow’s “Strike 3 Foundation” for childhood cancer research.  10-year old Catching Joy team-member Maxwell Surprenant learned about Breslow’s charity last fall. That’s when he found out about the Foundation’s “Play it Forward” challenge for kids.  He wanted to help, so he submitted the idea of a comedy night to raise money and awareness for the foundation.  And so, this coming Friday, kids of all ages are asked to stand up and tell jokes and funny and inspirational stories at The Blue Bunny.  In between the jokes, local magician Bill Doucette will entertain everyone with some terrific tricks and illusions.  And Breslow’s wife, Kelly, will also be in attendance to personally thank everyone for their support and tell us more about the foundation.

It’s a free show, but donations and pledges (no amount is too small) will be accepted.  As an added bonus, Maxwell will be raffling off a baseball signed by Red Sox superstar David Ortiz.  Anyone who makes a donation or tells a joke will get entered to win.  Too nervous to stand up and tell a joke?  There’s one more way to help and get entered into the raffle.  Write down your joke or riddle and illustrate it, and bring it with you.  All of the jokes will be collected and bound into books that Catching joy will distribute to area hospitals' pediatric waiting rooms.

Please join us for this terrific and fun evening for a great cause.  Bring a pledge for the Strike 3 Fund for every joke or riddle you promise to share with us and let’s see if we can hit it out of the park! Refreshments provided. All ages welcome to participate or just enjoy the show.  For more information about the Foundation, check out www.strike3foundation.org.  For more information about the event, call The Blue Bunny at 781-493-6568.
