VIDEO: Dedham Memorial Day Ceremony at Brookdale Cemetery

Event was held in honor of late veteran James Bradbury and featured State Sen. Michael Rush as keynote speaker.

played host Monday to the Dedham's annual Memorial Day ceremony, dedicated this year to Korean War veteran and former Dedham firefighter James Bradbury, who died in February.

Bradbury's wife Doreen was invited to lay a wreath at the cemetery's veteran memorial statue in honor of her husband and the nation's veterans. State Sen. Mike Rush (D - Boston), who in December returned from service with the U.S. Navy Reserves in Iraq, served as the event's keynote speaker and reflected on the history of sacrifice in the United States Armed Forces.

Board of Selectmen Chairman Carmen Dello Iacono and Norfolk County Commissioner Francis O'Brien also spoke at the event, as did student Brian Pazienza, whose essay about patriotism was chosen from 165 Dedham student submissions.
