DEDHAM GIRLS SOFTBALL 2012 SEASON STARTING UP!

Dedham Girls Softball News!

Spring is right around the corner, and with it will bring the return to the field for Dedham Girls Softball. As always, there are some dates and events of importance that Dedham residents should be aware of. Signups for the season have begun on the Dedham Girls Softball Website: http://www.dedhamgs.com/ and as part of these signups are many exciting events and activities. To be eligible to play your daughter(s) must be signed up asap on the site. Please log on and proceed to any/all of the following links so that you can your daughter(s) ready for the 2012 season!

If you wish to register a player be aware that you need to  provide us with a copy of a birth certificate if child is new to League.

SPRING SIGNUP

 Spring Late Registration Policy:  10U & 14U Spring Registrations received after March 15 and 6U & 8U Spring Registrations received after April 15th will be assessed a $25 late fee.

ASA Age Eligibility:

Dedham Girls Softball League adheres to the rules of the Amateur Softball Association of America (ASA). The ASA eligibility age for your child is determined on January 1, 2012. Her age on January 1, 2012 determines in which DGSL division she will play. The age when the season starts doesn’t matter.

14U Division    If your child was 11, 12, 13 or 14 years old on 1/1/12, she will play in 14U Division

10U Division    If your child was 9 or 10 years old on 1/1/12, she will play in 10U Division. 

8U Division     If your child was 7 or 8 years old on 1/1/12, she will play in 8U Division. 

6U Division    If your child was 5 or 6 years old on 1/1/12, she will play in 5&6 Division.

E-Mail Correspondence: As many of the coaches and DGSL representatives correspond via e-mail, please provide an e-mail address that you use regularly. This will also serve as your account log-on.

Spring League Registration Fees: 

14U  $80.00 per player

10U  $80.00 per player

8U   $45.00 per player 

6U   $45.00 per player

The maximum registration fee per family is $160.00. 

But wait, there’s more!......Also as part of your registering there are clinics, events, and other opportunities to play for your daughter that you can sign up for:

DEDHAM GIRLS SOFTBALL HITTING CLINIC (FREE!!)

  • Dedham Girls Softball League is once again offering a FREE hitting Clinic for registered players in the DGSL 2012 Spring Season. 
  • Registrants will participate in a two-week session. The 2012 Clinic is once again being run by DGSL’s Hitting Instructor Angela Vecchione. 
  • Participants will attend the following sessions being offered  at the ECEC (Capen School) Gymnasium:
  • League Ages 7 & 8           Tuesday 3/6/12 6:00pm-7:15pm & Tuesday 3/13/12 6:00pm-7:15pm
  • League Ages 11 & 12       Tuesday 3/6/12 7:15pm-8:30pm & Tuesday 3/13/12 7:15pm-8:30pm
  • League Ages 9 & 10         Tuesday 3/20/12 6:00pm-7:15pm & Tuesday 3/20/12 6:00pm-7:15pm
  • League Ages 13 & 14       Tuesday 3/20/12 7:15pm-8:30pm & Tuesday 3/20/12 6:00pm-7:15pm

Space is limited. There will be a waiting list and some of those registrants maybe moved to a different session. Participants are expected to attend both sessions. For safety reason, participants ONLY are allowed in the gym during the Clinics.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!!

Volunteers Needed: We are looking for parents/guardians to volunteer – as coaches, assistant coaches, help with fundraising activities, assist with occasional field maintenance, or write articles about your child’s team for the newspaper. There is a section on the Registration to sign-up as a volunteer. Your participation is very much appreciated! The success of the league depends on your involvement!!
