Jerod Mayo & Friends Pitched In For Kids at 3rd Annual “Mayo Bowl”

Pro Athletes and Celebrities Competed to Raise Funds for "Pitching in for Kids" and Boston Medical Center.

New England Patriots defensive superstar Jerod Mayo joined his teammates, Boston-area luminaries, sponsors, friends and fans last night for the third annual “Mayo Bowl” celebrity charity bowling tournament at Kings Dedham at Legacy Place.

The celebrity bowling event raised more than $140,000 for Pitching in for Kids, Inc., a dynamic, nonprofit organization dedicated to providing specifically earmarked grants that will improve the lives of children across the New England region and Boston Medical Center who will provide consistently excellent and accessible health services to all in need of care regardless of status or ability to pay. Mayo became involved with the organizations as a way to give back to the community that has supported him and his career as a celebrated linebacker with New England’s NFL franchise.

Superstar quarterback Tom Brady and wife Gisele Bundchen were in attendance to show their support. The rest of the all-star lineup of celebrities who participated in the tournament included Mayo’s teammates Rob Gronkowski, Aaron Hernandez, Vince Wilfork, Brandon Lloyd, Devin McCourty, Julian Edelman, Danny Aiken, Kyle Love, Logan Mankins, Nate Solder, Sebastian Vollmer, Rod Ninkovich, Patrick Chung, Brandon Spikes, Danny Woodhead, Stephen Gostkowski, Zoltan Mesko; and former patriots Troy Brown and Kevin Faulk . Also on hand were WZLX morning radio personalities Kevin Karlson and Pete McKenzie and The Phantom Gourmet’s Andelman Brothers.
