Dedham Youth Baseball Opens Spring Registration, Announces Skills Clinic

Registration will be open until late March, and youth athletes can enhance their skills at a clinic on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day this month.

Dedham youths interested in playing baseball in 2014 can now register for the spring season and also take part in an upcoming youth skills clinic later in January, Dedham Youth Baseball announced Wednesday. 

Spring Registration

Registration deadlines for Babe Ruth, Major and Minor leagues will take place on March 15, with the deadline for Farm and Instructional Leagues arriving on April 1.

  • Babe Ruth: Ages 13-15 | Registration Fee: $175 | Varied Days
  • Major League: Ages 11-1 | Regsitration Fee: $110 | Mondays, Wednesdays, Saturdays
  • Minor League: Ages 9-10 | Registration Fee: $110 | Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays
  • Farm League: Ages 7-8 | Registration Fee: $60 | Mondays & Wednesdays
  • Instructional League: Ages 5-6 | Registration Fee: $50 | Tuesdays and Thursdays. 

Age requirements for DYB state that players must be 5 years old or no older than 15 years as of April 30, 2014.

Skills Clinic Set for MLK Day

The youth baseball organization is also hosting a skills clinic on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Monday, Jan. 20 at the Blue Hills Baseball & Softball Club, 1661 Hyde Park Ave. in Hyde Park. 

The clinic will feature the following two sessions:

  • Ages 7-8: 9-11 a.m.
  • Ages 9-10: 12-2 p.m.

Players will focus on hitting fundamentals, throwing and catching. Signups are limited to the first 30 players per age group.
