Dedham High's Birchall Top High Jumper in Division 4

Dedham High's Sean Birchall is the Division 4 state high jump champion after winning the event at Saturday's meet at North Reading High.

Birchall's jump of 6-2 was tied with North Reading's John Braga, but won the event as he had few misses in the competition.

Senior Reginald LaRoche had a big day with two third places finishes in the shot put at 57-7.25 and in the discus at 130-9.

Those points allowed Dedham to post 22 points for a 12th place finish. Weston was the top team with 72 points.

Rohit Kumar was 19th in the long jump at 19-01.25, while the 4 x 100 relay team was 13th in 47.05.
