Dedham High Athletic Director: Some Spring Sports Teams May Begin Practices Indoors

Dedham Athletic Director Michael Plansky said some baseball scrimmages may be affected by the field conditions.

With a snowy winter winding down and spring sports on-deck next week, Dedham High School's natural grass athletic fields may not be available to some of the teams in time for their first practice.

"We hope to be ok with the start of sports," Dedham High School Athletic Director Michael Plansky said. "The main question is when we will be able to get on our baseball fields."

Plansky said that some baseball scrimmages may be affected but the teams that use synthetic fields, such as the softball team should be okay.

"Synthetic turf will be fine. Grass baseball fields will take some time to get ready," Plansky said.
