Second Ceremony Scheduled to Honor DHS Graduates

The school will host a second ceremony on Monday, June 6.

Following an altered ceremony at the Wednesday evening that forced Dedham school officials , administrators announced Thursday that they will have a second go at it on Monday, June 6 - this time indoors.

Graduates from the class of 2011 and their families are encouraged to attend the 7 p.m. ceremony and reception at auditorium, superintendent June Doe said in a message to parents Thursday.

According to School Committee member Susan Butler Walko, students will walk across the stage as their names are called and the ceremony will mimic what Wednesday's program called for.

It was unclear as of Thursday afternoon if that meant keynote speaker Jim Calhoun would attend Monday's event.

Student speakers Brian Coakley, Susannah White and Kelly St. Cyr are expected to make their prepared remarks again.

"We are making every effort to assure that Monday evening will be a special occasion for each graduate," Doe said in her message to parents.
