Reading To Build A Snowman

The snowman reading program is a fun way for the children at ECEC to learn to love reading.

Mrs. Lally’s class at the Early Childhood Education Center in Dedham is reading to build a snowman.

After a child reads a book at home or a parent reads with a child, they write the title of the book on one side of a snowball.  In the morning, each child hangs his / her snowballs on the snowman hanging outside the classroom door.  The object is for the children to fill out enough snowballs to fill in the gigantic snowman.

This is a wonderful way to encourage reading and literacy concepts at home.  The students are very excited to see their snowman grow.
