Old Avery School Playground Looking for New Home

The playground is currently located at the former Avery School and it needs a new home.

Although the Avery School is new and improved, the town is still looking for a home for its old playground.

The playground is currently located at the former Avery School, now known as the Motherbrook Community Arts Center.

Dedham Town Administrator  William Keegan said the town has been asked by Board of Directors at the Center to remove the equipment since the play area has now been replaced by new equipment at Condon Park and at the new Avery School.

“If there is anyone looking to reuse this equipment within the Community, all they need is a certified playground equipment specialist to help remove and reassemble the equipment at another location and the equipment is yours,” Keegan said in a note to the Dedham Selectmen.

If no one claims the playground, the town will look to place it on a Municipal Bid website or on Craig’s List to see if they can recover some value for the equipment.

The Town Administrator said the town will not wait long before it moves it to one of the popular salvage websites.
