Framingham High Principal Finalist for Dedham Superintendent Post

Framingham High School Principal Michael Welch is also a finalist for the Westborough Public Schools Superintendent post.

Framingham High School Principal Michael Welch is now a finalist for the Superintendent position in Dedham, as well as the Superintendent post in Westborough.

Welch sent an email to parents Friday morning telling them he was one of three finalists for the Superintendent position at Dedham Public Schools

The other Dedham finalists are: Joel Antolini, assistant superintendent for North Attleboro Public Schools  and Mary Ann DeMello, assistant superintendent for Hopkinton Public Schools.

Dedham's current superintendent, June Doe, is set to retire at the end of the school year, having previously served as a foreign language teacher at Dedham Middle School before taking on the role of assistant principal, and eventually Superintendent.

Welch is also a finalist for the Superintendent position in Westborough Public Schools.

Friday, March 14, Welch visited Westborough, and is expected to be in Dedham for a visit next week.

A vote in Westborough is scheduled for Wednesday, March 26. Dedham is expected to make a decision on a school superintendent the first week in April.

Welch, who lives in Framingham with his family, has been Framingham High principal since 2005.
