Dedham School Committee to Meet with Superintendent Candidates This Week

Three candidates will meet with school officials on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week.

School officials in Dedham are closing in on candidates for the district's new superintendent.

Dedham's current superintendent, June Doe, is set to retire at the end of the school year. In the latest developments regarding the search process, the Dedham School Committee has released a schedule of interviews and meetings with three finalists for the position of superintendent.

"The response was overwhelming – 33 applicants in all – and the field very strong," Joe Heisler, Dedham School Committee Chair, said in a statement. "The Screening Committee did a terrific job, interviewing 12 candidates in total and then narrowing the field to these final three. Now it’s time for the School Committee to do its due diligence. But before we make any final decisions, we want to give the community at large, students and parents, teachers, staff and administrators an opportunity to meet each of the finalists. Therefore we have scheduled a day for each of them to visit our community. I would encourage everyone to take this opportunity to meet the person that will lead the Dedham Public Schools into the future, building on the high standards and expectations set by our current Superintendent, Mrs. Doe.”
