Water District to Start High Street Night Work Monday

The Dedham-Westwood Water District will perform night work between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. beginning Monday and lasting until Sept. 28.

The Dedham-Westwood Water District (DWWD) will begin night work on High Street beginning Monday evening, it said in a letter provided to residents and Dedham Patch.

Construction crews will replace the water main on High Street between Ames and Washington streets in a project expected to last from Aug. 15 until Sept. 28, executive director Eileen Commane stated in the letter.

"We are committed both to minimizing the disruption that this work may cause and towards effectively communicating with you during the course of the construction," the letter stated.

Work will last from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., Monday through Thursday, with the exception of holidays.

"Because of the nature of construction in this busy area, we will be doing the majority of work during the overnight hours," Commane said.

During construction times, one lane on High Street will be closed, but will reopen each morning, according to the DWWD.

A minimal amount of work will be done on side streets, and on Church Street where it intersects with High Street. That work will be done during the day, the letter stated.
