Selectmen Move Step Closer to Purchasing Former Cheeky Diva Building

The Dedham Board of Selectmen also added another $200,000 to snow removal budget.

At one of the Dedham Board of Selectmen’s shortest meetings Tuesday evening, they voted to have arrange a Special Town Meeting right before May's Annual Town Meeting in order to acquire a small piece of land between and the .

Assistant Town Administrator Nancy Baker said the property and house will be purchased for $425,000, if Town Meeting approves. Town Administrator William Keegan said that have yet to vet any ideas as to what the town will do with the newly acquired property.

Snow Budget Mountain Grows

Selectmen also voted to transfer $200,000 into the snow removal budget.

Keegan said that is needed in the aftermath of this winter’s snowstorms. He said the DPW is fixing various damage around Dedham and making repairs to equipment. Baker added that there is a 75 percent reimbursement to funds spent during storms when the state was declared a disaster area by the Federal Emergency Management Administration. 

The additional funds brings the snow removal budget to, about $600,000 more than the town spent in 2010, according to Keegan.
