Commuter rail ticket prices will increase an average of 29 percent, including Dedham. The proposal set out by the MBTA on Wednesday didn't list zone-by-zone increases.

Dedham residents, like everyone else, also will be paying more to ride the T if the proposal is approved.

Here are the recommended fare increases:

  • Local bus fares with a Charlie Card would go up a quarter to $1.50. The current fare is $1.25.
  • Subway fares would be $2, 30 cents more than the current rate of $1.70.

MBTA staff members are scheduled to present the recommendations to the MBTA’s board for approval on April 4, according to the release. The changes would go into effect July 1, the beginning of fiscal year 2013.
