Manor Residents Light The Night with Police Cruisers in Tow

Evening walk with flashlights, balloons and police cruisers in support of crime prevention.

Despite the rain Dedham residents of the Manor neighborhoodlined up in front of  as part of the police-sponsored National Night Out Light the Night event.  

Jim Maher, a member of the Manor Neighborhood Watch, brought a couple dozen helium balloons for the kids in the neighborhood, as nearly 25 residents walked just under a mile.

Obviously happy with the turnout, Dedham Police Chief Michael d'Entremont thanked supporters for turning out and added all of the National Night Out events were a success. He just had one final wish:

“I hope you left your exterior lights to show support for crime prevention,” he said. 

Sherry Cummins and Christine Ruggiera, Manor neighborhood residents, came out after seeing the announcement at Terri’s Market.  Cummins said she came out because she loves to walk.

Dan Tiahan, brought out his sons Collin and Sean to walk the neighborhood, show their support and “just to get the kids out,” he said.
