Dedham Town Election Today

Town Clerk Paul Munchbach is expecting about 3,500 voters to come to the polls.

Dedham voters will head to the polls today to settle three contested races as two seats are open on the Board of Selectmen, two on the School Committee, and one of the Parks and Recreation seats is a contested race.

Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. this evening. Check where to vote on the list below, or on the map to the right.

Town Clerk Paul Munchbach said he is expecting 22 to 25 percent turnout, equating to roughly 3,500 of the 16,800 registered voters to show up at the polls.

"The weather will be decent so that'll bring out the traditionally good voters," Munchbach said earlier this week. "Since Election Day moved to April, we've had better weather."

Forecasts call for sunny skies and a high of 62 degrees.

Munchbach's prediction falls in line with most of the past town elections, with the exception of the 2008 race - the inaugural race for current selectmen candidates and .

That race brought 30 percent of registered voters to the polls.

Just one contested Town Meeting race, along with late campaign season debates and fewer signs, Munchbach said voter turnout will stay average.

"The same energy is not there, and the Town Meeting draw that brings people to the polls isn't either," he said.
