Dedham Fire Crews, EMTs Deliver Baby on Rte. 128

Crews delivered a healthy baby boy early Saturday morning.

Emergency response crews delivered a baby on Rte. 128 in Dedham this weekend. 

Early Saturday morning, Dedham firefighters and Emergency Medical Technicians found an expectant mother pulled over on Rte. 109, where they moved her to an ambulance and took off for the hospital, according to CBS Boston

Then, while en route, the ambulance pulled over on the highway and crews delivered the baby boy, who, along with the mother, arrived in healthy condition at the hospital, according to the report.

Dedham's Engine Company 2 and Paramedic 9 responded to the scene, with Dedham Firefighter Eric Levesque and Fallon Paramedics Keith Flavin and Scott Stacey having performed the delivery, according to Dedham Firefighters IAFF Local #1735.
