Dedham 2014 Town Election: Ballot Question Results

On Saturday, Dedham voters picked two new faces to the Dedham Board of Selectmen, and also weighed in on who would win the contested races for Board of Assessors and Board of Health.

The ballot, however, also included five ballot questions regarding amendments to the Dedham Town Charter. Voters said yes to all questions except question three, which looked to lengthen the Town Clerk's term from three to five years.

Ballot Question 1

Should Section 1 of an act passed by the general court in 2014 entitled "An Act Relative to the Charter of the Town of Dedham," which section amends the Town Charter by making ministerial, clerical and minor substantive revisions, be accepted?

Ballot Question 2

Should Section 6 of an act passed by the general court in 2014 entitled "An Act Relative to the Charter of the Town of Dedham," which section amends the Town Charter to eliminate compensation for elected officials other than the Town Clerk, be accepted?

Ballot Question 3

Should Section 7 of an act passed by the general court in 2014 entitled "An Act Relative to the Charter of the Town of Dedham," which section increases the term of the elected Town Clerk from three to five years be accepted?

Should Sections 8, 9 and 10 of an act passed by the general court in 2014 entitled "An Act Relative to the Charter of the Town of Dedham," which sections amend the Town Charter to make the Town Administrator responsible for appointing an supervising all department heads another than the Library Director and Parks and Recreation Director, be accepted?
