Police: Roslindale Man Attacked Victim with Baseball Bat

Dedham officers charged Andy Alba with assault with a dangerous weapon.

A Roslindale man faces assault with a dangerous weapons charges after arrested him Tuesday afternoon.

Andy Alba, 30, hit a victim several times in the rib cage with a baseball bat in a parking lot outside of , and then attempted to flee the scene when the victim pulled out a pocket knife to defend himself, according to police.

Witnesses told police that they saw Alba approach the victim - the pair had exchanged words inside the store minutes earlier - with a baseball bat, swinging it in the air, police reports stated.

Police said the victim's knife was of legal length and, according to the reports, the victim never struck Alba with it.

Police arrested Alba in his black Nissan Altima in the parking lot of .
