Police Log: Youths Set off Alarm at Greenlodge School, Legacy Place Tows Employees' Cars

An excerpt of the Dedham police logs from March 25-27.

 The following is an excerpt from the   log.  Please note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log.

Friday, March 25

  • At 9:42 a.m., police received a report of stolen license plates off a construction vehicle. The caller said the theft occurred on March 18 at about 9 p.m.
  • At 5:20 p.m., a caller from Sephora at Legacy Place alerted police that 45 minutes earlier a woman stole seven bottles of perfume. The caller told police that the woman was in her mid-20s with long, curly hair in a ponytail and was wearing a gray wool jacket with a green scarf.
  • At 8:08 p.m., police were notified that a Bud Light truck driver hit a fence on Rustcraft Road and left the scene. Police issued an alert to outside agencies to stop the vehicle if sighted. No other information was immediately available.
  • At 9:33 p.m., police arrested a 25-year-old Dorchester woman for allegedly shoplifting from at Legacy Place. Police charged Shelene Rowe with two counts of shoplifting by asportation.
    UPDATE: These charges have since been dropped. 
  • At 11:43 p.m., police arrested Depriest Sims, 25 of Dorchester, for allegedly driving with a suspended license and failure to stop.

Saturday, March 26

  • At 5:42 p.m., Dedham police arrested 28-year-old Antonio Araujo, of Dedham, and charged him unlicensed operation of a vehicle. Araujo's vehicle was towed from the scene.
  • At 6:18 p.m., security requested towing two cars believed to belong to employees that were parked in the parking garage, against Legacy Place policy. Employees have a separate lot across from the garage.
  • At 9:12 p.m., officers were sent to Cedar Street to break up a "large group" gathering of teens.

Sunday, March 27

  • At 2:32 p.m., police responded to for an alarm. An officer reported that he saw two youths fleeing the school when he arrived.
  • At 6:09 p.m., police notified the of a large pothole on Kimball Road.
